Preparing For Your Pet Sitter This Summer

How to Prepare For Your Professional Pet Sitter This Summer

1. Be sure your air conditioning is in good working order and provide your sitter with service contact information.
2. Provide a kiddie pool or sprinkler for outside playtime on hot days.
3. Be certain your pet is microchipped and has a safe collar with tags including your name & address, rabies tag, microchip tag, & veterinary insurance tag.
4. Provide Kong toys with fillings such as peanut or pumpkin, which can be frozen for a cool treat.
5. Be sure to have indoor arrangements for your pet, or if your pet spends the day in an outside kennel please prepare shade and easy access to fresh cool water & be sure to book as many visits with your sitter as possible so pets can be brought indoors on hot days.
6. Have all elderly pets or pets with health conditions examined by your veterinary and follow up with all recommended blood work. Hot weather can be especially dangerous for elderly pets and pets with health conditions.
7. Prepare a cool dog safe play zone in your house in a garage or basement, for days when it is too hot to play outside.
8. Have plenty of ice cube trays in your freezer or make sure your ice cube dispenser is working so your sitter can give your dog nice cold drinking water.
9. Please be certain all your outdoor fences are secure and invisible fence batteries are charged and working properly.
10. Provide detailed instructions, veterinary information, and photos of your pets in your pet sitters online system so they can access the information at all times.

Relax and enjoy your vacation knowing your fur kids are in excellent hands with their professional pet sitter.
