About Us

About Creature Comforts of Charlotte Pet Sitting

Affordable, insured pet sitting in Charlotte—peace of mind for you.

At Creature Comforts of Charlotte Pet Sitting, we understand how stressful it can be to leave your pets in someone else’s care. Like many pet owners, we’ve experienced disappointment with unreliable or impersonal pet sitters. That’s why we started our own pet sitting business right here in Charlotte, NC—to provide the kind of trustworthy, high-quality care we always wanted for our own pets.

Our mission is simple: to give North Carolina pet owners peace of mind during vacations, extended trips, or even just the workday. Excellent customer service is at the heart of everything we do. If you call and leave a message during normal business hours, we’ll return your call right away—never days later. Professionalism and responsiveness are non-negotiable for us.

We also believe that pet sitting should be both reliable and affordable. Many local companies overcharge yet underdeliver. At Creature Comforts, we keep our rates fair while offering better service than many higher-priced competitors. Every visit includes text and photo updates, so you’ll know exactly how your fur-babies are doing.

Because your home and pets deserve the highest level of care, all of our sitters are insured and bonded—you can feel completely confident about who’s entering your home. Trust and transparency are values we take seriously.

Creature Comforts of Charlotte Pet Sitting is more than just a service—we’re your partners in caring for the animals you love most. Call us today at 704-960-9751 to schedule your free in-home consultation and experience the difference.

Mark Riddagh

Greetings! My name is Mark Riddagh, and I’m the President and Owner of Creature Comforts of Charlotte Pet Sitting. For over 11 years, I’ve had the privilege of operating this business, and in that time, I’ve seen just about everything the pet-sitting world has to offer. Yet even after all these years, this work continues to surprise and delight me every single day. The pet care industry is never dull; each dog, cat, and critter brings their own personality, quirks, and charm that make every visit unique and rewarding.

When I first started, friends in the industry warned me that I’d "burn out" within three years. I’m happy to say they couldn’t have been more wrong. Caring for animals and the people who love them has only deepened my passion and purpose over time.

Before venturing into pet care, I spent many years as an Operations Manager for a large mailing firm, helping businesses communicate with their clients through direct mail and tactile marketing. My role focused on team building, delegation, accountability, and achieving year-over-year growth goals. Those skills have translated seamlessly into managing a professional, trustworthy, and dependable pet-sitting service.

While that chapter of my life was fulfilling, I couldn’t shake my lifelong love for animals. With encouragement from friends and family, and a little faith, I decided to follow my dream. That leap led me to acquire Creature Comforts of Charlotte, and what began as a passion project has grown into a business that truly feels like a calling.

Today, I'm glad to lead a company that puts trust, reliability, and compassion at the heart of everything we do. Every day brings new wagging tails, curious paws, and grateful clients, and I wouldn’t trade that for anything.

Cindy Riddagh

Hello, I’m Cindy Riddagh, Owner of Creature Comforts of Charlotte Pet Sitting. First, thank you for considering us for your pet care needs. At Creature Comforts, our mission is simple: to provide compassionate, reliable, and personalized care so your pets feel safe, comfortable, and loved, just as if you were there yourself. Every pet has a unique personality, and I take pride in ensuring their well-being, comfort, and happiness while you’re away. As a lifelong animal lover and devoted pet parent, I know firsthand how much peace of mind matters when leaving your furry family members in someone else’s care.

My journey to pet care has been shaped by a career in oncology pharmacy, where I dedicated more than 25 years to helping patients and families through challenging times. From my early career as a registered pharmacist in New York, to earning my Doctor of Pharmacy and working at Memorial Sloan Kettering Cancer Center, I developed a deep commitment to compassion, attention to detail, and trust. Qualities that now guide how I care for animals and our small community business. When my husband Mark’s career brought us to the Carolinas, I was fortunate to continue working with oncology patients while also planting roots in the Charlotte community.

In the name of keeping things fresh, we decided to visit some puppies who were looking for a home and fell in love with a toy poodle, soon to be known as Chloe. We took her home, and soon she became the heart of our family, alongside our tom cat from NY, Bobby. Once settled in Charlotte, with Chloe and Bobby by our side, our grown sons in college, our transition was complete. They continue to remind us of every day why compassionate, attentive pet care matters so much.

Over time, my passion for animals grew into something more. Mark and I became certified in pet first aid and CPR, and we proudly support organizations like the ASPCA, the Humane Society of the United States, P.A.W., and the Animal Adoption League of Charlotte. As I recently retired as a Pharmacy Director, I bring a wealth of wisdom and experience that further strengthens our values and commitment to Creature Comforts of Charlotte Pet Sitting. My years in healthcare taught me the importance of trust, compassion, and meticulous care, all of which now guide the way we look after your beloved pets. That’s why Creature Comforts exist, because your peace of mind matters just as much as your pet’s comfort. We promise to treat your pets as if they were our own, always with patience, kindness, and love. The trust you place in us will never be taken for granted. When I’m not caring for pets, I love cooking special meals for my family, taking long walks with Mark, and caring for my aging parents, which I consider a true blessing. More than anything, I’m grateful for the life I’ve been given and the ability to share those blessings with others.

Jessica S.

Hello! My name is Jessica, and I’ve had the joy of working with Mark and Cindy Riddagh at Creature Comforts of Charlotte Pet Sitting for the past eight years.

Over the years, I’ve worked in many different fields, from serving and retail to sales and customer service, but pet sitting has truly been my favorite. What started as something fun quickly became a passion, and I’ve loved every minute of it.

It’s hard not to fall in love with this work—you’re surrounded by friendly, cuddly animals who bring joy to every day! But what makes Creature Comforts so special goes beyond the pets themselves. This company truly cares about the well-being of every animal and every client. After eight years, many of the pets I care for have become like family to me.

At Creature Comforts, we go above and beyond to make sure your pets are in good hands, whether it’s a last-minute schedule change, an unexpected emergency, a planned vacation, or simply a long workday when you can’t get home.

We’re here to make life easier for you and happier for your pets. To all of us, our clients and their pets are much more than customers—they’re family.

Emily S.

Hello! My name is Emily, and I’ve spent more than 20 years working with animals. I truly can’t imagine life without them. From dogs and cats to wildlife and hospice care, my lifelong passion has been helping animals feel safe, loved, and understood.

As a Certified Animal End-of-Life Doula, I bring a gentle, compassionate approach to every pet I meet, especially those who are older, shy, or need a little extra TLC. Whether we’re heading out for a walk, playing fetch, or simply enjoying quiet cuddle time, I make sure each pet feels comfortable, cared for, and secure.

Outside of pet care, I love spending time in nature, singing in choir, traveling with my husband, and caring for my own furry family—Ruby and Hugo (my dogs) and Gatsby (my cat).

At Creature Comforts of Charlotte, I treat every pet as if they were part of my own family, and I look forward to meeting yours!

Brittany M.

Hello! My name is Brittany, and caring for both people and animals has always been an important part of my life.

After proudly serving in the military, I wanted to continue giving back to my community in a meaningful way, and that’s what led me to the world of pet care.

Now retired from military service, I’ve spent the past five years working in the pet industry, providing dependable care through dog walking, pet sitting, grooming, and training. Helping families feel confident that their pets are safe, happy, and loved, whether they’re at work, on vacation, or just need an extra helping hand, is incredibly rewarding.

At Creature Comforts of Charlotte, I’m proud to be part of a team that treats every pet like family and every visit as an opportunity to make a difference.
